For various industries, sorting oblong objects and irregularly shaped fruits and vegetables can pose a challenge to machinery by virtue of their unpredictable characteristics. Exeter Engineering has launched a new machine that will improve the electronic sorting of irregularly shaped fruit tenfold.
Called the Sidewinder, this new machine utilizes a gentle and innovative carrier design together with a high-speed HD camera, LED lighting system and intuitive user interface for sorting irregularly shaped produce like potatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers, onions and avocados.
