“Small yet mighty” just got a brand new coat of red paint. The model YT235 compact tractors now in stock at Yanmar dealers deliver powerful and efficient tractor technology to make quick work of tough jobs.
The heart of any tractor is its engine. Yanmar diesel engines, like those used in the YT Series tractors, evolved from an 84-year history of compact diesel engine innovation. The three-cylinder, liquid-cooled diesel engines rely on state-of-the-art fuel-injection systems and combustion chambers that are powerful and efficient, yet clean and quiet.
“The innovative design of the YT2 provides more power to take on heavy loads, long days, rough terrain, whatever you can throw at it,” said Keith Wainwright, business unit manager of agricultural equipment at Yanmar America. “Yanmar diesel engines are built to be powerful and efficient, as well as exceptionally clean and quiet to reduce the impact they make on the environment.”
The model YT235 (35 horsepower) is equipped with a hydrostatic transmission, which offers an unlimited choice of tractor speeds. It has three speed ranges controlled by a left-hand shift lever to quickly find the ideal speed to get the job done. Paired with twin, side-by-side control pedals, operators can choose direction and speed with the touch of a foot. Additionally, the YT2 tractor’s functions and operational status are all displayed on an LCD monitor, allowing operators instant access to crucial information.
The new YT2 Series tractors sport a new, richer red paint color and a striking new exterior design created by Ken Okuyama, a world-renowned industrial designer best known for his work with companies like Maserati and Ferrari.
Factory-installed cabs are one of several options that make the YT2 Series tractors—and their YT3 series counterparts (launched in 2016)—a premium offering in the compact utility tractor category. Like many of the major components and new features on the YT2 tractors, the cabs are Yanmar-designed and fully integrated into the styling and technology of the new tractors. Heat and air conditioning are standard in the cabs. The YT235 is also available with open operator platforms with folding rollover protective structures.
For compact tractor owners who opt for front-end loaders, Yanmar designs its own loaders to ensure a perfect match for every operator. The loaders fit both cab and open platform tractors and are controlled from the factory-installed, right-hand joystick that comes standard on every YT235 tractor. Yanmar loaders for YT2 tractors use an industry standard, skid-steer-style quick attachment system. Yanmar backhoes are also available.
