Growers can now get the broadest spectrum of in-furrow defense against disease and soil insects with Ethos XB insecticide/fungicide from FMC. A revolutionary offering for potato growers to increase yields while protecting crops, Ethos XB insecticide/fungicide comes with the broadest spectrum of defense. Where synthetic chemistries fall short, the biofungicide chemistry of Ethos XB insecticide/fungicide results in suppression of soil-borne Rhizoctonia.

Growers can move beyond protection and nurture production to drive higher yields and greater returns on their investment with new Ethos XB. It is a first-of-its-kind in-furrow solution that offers the broadest spectrum of seedling defense against soil pests and diseases throughout the critical growth stage when most yield potential is set. Ethos XB’s convenient, integrated protection combined with liquid fertilizer application creates an environment where seedlings emerge more quickly, more uniformly and with the vigor to optimize productivity.

Ethos XB defends against such insect pests as armyworms, grubs, stalk borer, corn rootworm, root aphid, sugarcane beetle, cutworm species, seedcorn beetle, wireworms, grape colapsis and seedcorn maggot. Disease defense includes Fusarium, Pythium, Rhizoctonia and Phytophthora

Formulated with the patented liquid fertilizer-ready technology from FMC, Ethos XB combines the active ingredient of Capture LFR insecticide with a broad-spectrum biofungicide.

Maximizing yield potential requires a healthy root system driving water and nutrients into the plant. Ethos XB is the first in-furrow solution that creates a complete zone of production around growing seedlings at a critical period when yield potential is most easily impacted. The biofungicide in Ethos XB forms a protective barrier on root surfaces. Unlike synthetic chemistries, the activity of the biofungicide in Ethos XB builds over time as spores germinate and colonize roots and root hairs.

Ethos XB is labeled for use on potatoes, field corn, sweet corn, soybeans, dry beans, dry peas, and succulent peas and beans.

The chart below illustrates Ethos XB's efficacy against Rhizoctonia on Russet Burbank plants in American Falls, Idaho, in a 2017 trial conducted by FMC.
