Nominations for producer positions in District 1 & 3 of the Idaho-Eastern Oregon Potato Committee will be held at on March 2, 2021, at 9 a.m. on a conference call meeting. These are two-year positions beginning June 1, 2021, and ending May 31, 2023.
In District 1, producer positions expiring May 31, 2021, are Jaren Raybould with Eric Sutton as an alternate. Both are eligible for a second two-year term.
In District 3, producer positions expiring May 31, 2021, are Richard Poteet with Von Gibby as an alternate. Each has served three two-year terms.
Nominations for handler positions in District 2 will also be held. These are also two-year positions beginning June 1, 2021 and ending May 31, 2023.
The handler positions expiring May 31, 2021, are Ryan Bybee, with Mark Thompson as his alternate in District 2. Both are able to serve their third two-year term.
The Idaho-Eastern Oregon Potato Committee program was established in 1941 by USDA. The industry-funded program establishes mandatory quality and inspection requirements for fresh potatoes from Malheur County, Ore., and designated counties in Idaho. USDA oversees committee activities to ensure fiscal responsibility, program efficiency and fair treatment of industry stakeholders.
