Pramod Thota has been appointed president of FMC U.S. He will lead the commercial strategy and own P&L responsibility for the company’s U.S. crop business. Thota will report to Ronaldo Pereira, FMC vice president and president of the Americas Region. Most recently, Thota was president of FMC India.

“Pramod has a strong track record in strategy, market development and business execution,” says Pereira. “These skills and qualities, paired with his leadership experience, will benefit our U.S. team and customers as we continue to grow our market share and address the array of challenges facing the U.S. row and specialty crop segments.”

Thota has held a variety of strategy and engineering leadership roles throughout the U.S. and India, including positions with Booz & Company, GES Inc., Virginia Tech and Wipro Technologies. He joined FMC in 2012 as director of strategy and development; was named business director of FMC Global Specialty Solutions in 2014; and became president of FMC India in 2017.

“There’s a lot of momentum at FMC, especially in the U.S., with the successful launch of new products last year such as Xyway brand fungicides and Rynaxypyr-powered brands Elevest insect control and Vantacor insect control,” says Thota. “I’m excited to build on this growth momentum with more products coming from FMC’s pipeline over the next five years and look forward to supporting our U.S. team in forging a path forward as the leading pure play crop protection company in the U.S.

Thota holds an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and a master’s degree in civil engineering from Virginia Tech. He earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in Hyderabad, India.

Succeeding Thota as president of FMC India is Ravi Annavarapu, formerly the director of sales and marketing for FMC India. Both Thota and Annavarapu will assume their new roles on July 1.
