Caledonia, Ill – CONSERV FS has announced a major expansion which will more than double storage capacity and better serve customers in the Rockford, northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin, area more efficiently.
The groundbreaking for the Caledonia Service Center expansion happens today. The planned updates include a new 6,000-ton dry fertilizer building, crop protection products warehouse and one-million-gallon bulk liquid fertilizer storage tank.
Both the dry fertilizer and the liquid facility will contain automated systems integrated with ordering, operations and accounting software providing a greatly streamlined processes and improved flow of information to the customer.
“At CONSERV FS we are committed to serving the farmers of today while planning for the future and the needs of the next generation of farmers,” CONSERV FS General Manager Dave Swigart, said. “We’ve been serving agriculture for nearly 100 years and this new project at our Caledonia facility demonstrates our commitment to the future of agriculture in our territory.”
Greystone Construction is the general contractor on the expansion. Colin O’Brien, Greystone VP of Business Development, says, “We are honored to be partnering with CONSERV FS again. Incorporated in 1928, CONSERV FS is an agricultural cooperative, owned and democratically controlled by its members. The new facility is expected to be completed in 2023.
