Find attached the spore data for week 4 (July17-23). The information comes from University of Idaho researchers.

Potatoes
This week we have had more P. infestans detections with 2 of 7 days at the Parma site, 2 of 7 days at the Wilder site (2nd consecutive week), 2 of 7 days at the Jerome site, 1 of 7 days at the North Paul site (4th consecutive week), 1 of 7 days at the South Paul site, and 1 of 7 days at the West Paul site.

However, weather conditions do not appear conducive to the disease, only the Rexburg weather station had more than 10 hours of relative humidity at 80 percent or more and that was on a single day (we consider two consecutive days at 80 percent or more for 10 hours to indicate risk).

Nevertheless we are detecting more spores of the late blight pathogen than we have in previous years so please continue to be vigilant if we do get a period of high humidity.

We have not detected spores of early blight yet at Acequia, Parma or Aberdeen.

Also, please find attached the flyer for the Parma field day on Aug. 17 attached.
