Combined United States And Canadian Potato Production Up 8 Percent From 2022

This publication is the result of a joint effort by Servicio de Información Agroalimentaria y Pesquera (SIAP), Statistics  Canada, and USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) to publish potato production for three countries in  one report. All data contained in this report comes from previously published data.  

The 2023 potato production for the United States and Canada combined is estimated at 570 million cwt, up 8 percent from the 2022 estimate. The United States potato production is estimated at 441 million cwt, up 10 percent from last year. Canada's potato growers harvested 129 million cwt, up 4 percent from 2022. 

The 2022 potato production for the United States, Canada, and Mexico combined is 567 million cwt, down 2 percent from the 2021 estimate. The United States 2022 potato production is estimated at 402 million cwt, down 3 percent from 2021. Canada’s potato growers harvested 124 million cwt during 2022, up 2 percent from 2021. Mexico’s potato growers harvested 41.4 million cwt during 2022, down 4 percent from 2021.
