Seed potato grower Richard Skogman, of Skogman Seed Farm, died unexpectedly on Friday, Aug. 23, 2024. He was 62.
Skogman Seed Farm is located in Dickinson County in the Upper Peninsula.
"Richard was an industrious and resourceful seed grower and we will miss his wisdom, friendship, and contributions to our group," said Damen Kurzer, director of the Michigan Seed Potato Association.
Funeral services were held last week in Felch, MI.
Richard's son, Matt Skogman, is the current operator of Skogman Seed Farm and a member of the Michigan Potato Industry Commission.
