3CM-5FG Automatic Bagging Machine

The 3CM-5FG automatic bagging machine from American-Newlong is designed for powdery products and features a vertical screw/auger feeding application. A dual-spout version is available for filling two bags at once for increased speeds. Product is weighed as it flows into the bag via load cells attached to the bag support mechanism.

A bottom-filling machine, the 3CM-5FG raises a bag and slowly drops it as it fills, reducing the distance for the product to fall and creating less dust and blowback. A vacuum is also built into the filling tube so air is evacuated during filling. At the end of the filling cycle, airflow reverses to clean the auger for the next bag.

American-Newlong, Inc. one of the world’s leading manufacturers of automated, open-mouth bag packaging and closing systems and equipment.

Sample Washer

Haith has taken the guesswork out of sample washing potatoes, carrots, beets and turnips by introducing programmable functionality to the latest version of its Sample Washer.

By using an intuitive, energy-efficient inverter with a programmable user interface, the operator can easily set the duration of the wash, which can be as short as 30 seconds and as long as 10 minutes. Apart from loading the washer and setting the program, the operator doesn’t need to do anything else, as the process is entirely automated, with Haith’s timed wash procedure guaranteeing consistent results.

Haith’s Sample Washer is now loaded and unloaded from the front via an infeed chute with an interlock access door, allowing it to be placed against a wall or in a corner if needed. Up to 45 pounds of produce is fed into a pintle-lined barrel, which is semi-submerged in water, where the crop is washed. Once complete, the sample is automatically discharged onto a sample tray via an elevator.

The Sample Washer needs only about 100 gallons of water to operate, much of which is returned to the washer tank once the wash cycle is complete.

Mud Separator

Wyma’s Mud Separator extracts mud from wash water so solids can be transported away and water can be reused. Wash water enters the mud extraction system, where a patented plate pack separates mud and water. Water exits through an outlet near the top. An auger can be fitted inside the cone to help thick, compressed mud exit at the bottom. Mud can then be transported away. A vibrator helps the solids move to the outfeed; a knife valve controls discharge.

This system uses no polymers, flocculants or coagulants. It has few moving parts and is low-maintenance. For best results, this equipment can be used with a Wyma rotary screen filter to remove large debris before wash water enters the mud separation system.

V4 Vege-Polisher

Wyma’s V4 Vege-Polisher improves the appearance of fresh vegetables, resulting in more premium-packed produce and an increased presence on retailers’ shelves. Wyma’s experience with rotary brush drum technology and brush specification means vegetables are washed and polished to the highest retail standards.

The V4 has a rotating drum made up of rows of nylon brushes. Produce enters via a large infeed chute. Two water pipes spray fresh and/or recycled water on the produce as it travels through the drum. Produce is washed and polished as it rubs against the rotating brushes and against other produce. At the outfeed, produce slides down a chute with minimal drop for a smooth transition to downstream equipment.
