Eric Kalasz has joined FMC as U.S. marketing director. He will be responsible for developing strategies to leverage customer intelligence and market insights to create and improve the FMC value proposition for target segments and customers. He is also charged with leading product strategy, product planning and pricing stewardship. Kalasz will serve on the FMC North America Leadership Team.
“Eric comes to us from BASF Corporation with significant industry experience in market introductions for new products, strategic planning for active ingredients and establishing brand awareness,” said Ronaldo Pereira, President of the Americas Region for FMC. Kalasz has held numerous positions in marketing, strategic account management and sales with crop protection companies, including BASF, Dow AgroSciences and Bayer. His experience spans row crops, tree nut and vine markets as well as turf and ornamentals. Most recently, Kalasz was brand manager for the BASF U.S. Crop division.
“FMC has a deep pipeline of crop protection products and innovative technologies,” says Kalasz. “I’m excited to launch new FMC brands and lead a team that will create a vision and roadmap for the success of our company and its customers.”
He feels a strong connection and bond with agriculture. “A farmer only has 40 or so chances to grow a crop. Helping farmers and their retail partners craft 40 specific plans for success is important work that requires accountability. My team and I want to do the best we can to help our distribution partners and growers get the most out of every crop,” says Kalasz.
Kalasz earned his MBA from the Univeristy of Sarasota and is an alumni of Illinois State University.
