Washington State University (WSU) recently rolled out its Potato Decision Aid System (DAS), an internet-based potato pest management guide that will provide growers with pest insect and disease density maps, weather forecasts by location and informative articles.

Importantly, the WSU Potato DAS also has an insecticide selection tool that recommends insecticide application and choices depending on potato growth stage, and insect pest growth stage customized to a location based on developmental heat units, that rates efficacy against the pest of interest and other pests in the field.

The WSU Potato DAS is still under development, but its usefulness is great and will become even better through time. The WSU Potato DAS is currently free and can be found here (Home | Decision Aid Systems).

It will require user registration and choosing up to three weather stations near the fields of interest to guide insect development models.
