2024 UI Snake River Weed Management Tour And Field Day At Aberdeen R&E Center Scheduled For June 25

The University of Idaho invites all to the 2024 University of Idaho Snake River Weed Management Tour and Field Day, held at the Aberdeen R&E Center on Tuesday June 25.

Details include:

  • Registration – 8-9 a.m.
  • Tour – 9 a.m. to noon
  • Followed by a sponsored lunch
  • You do not need to pre-register/RSVP

Four Idaho pesticide recertification credits will be available.

Featured on the Aberdeen R&E Center tour will be:

  • Palmer amaranth and waterhemp herbicide resistance: Eastern ID Survey and potato herbicide testing
  • Resistance management: Herbicide tank mixtures with overlapping sites of action (SOA) controlling the same weed species
  • Simulated Excess Rainfall Effects on Herbicides and Potato Crop Safety
  • Herbicide SOA injury demonstration

In addition, there will be updates on IR-4 Herbicide Tolerance – Quinoa and ISDA Specialty Crop Block Grant: Condiment Mustard herbicide tolerance. Researchers will explain how these crops fit into potato rotations.

Also, there will be updates on Idaho potato variety breeding and development, potato disease management and cropping systems.
