2024 Miller Research Potato Pest Management Field Day

Miller Research will be holding its annual potato pest management field day on Wednesday, August 21. The cost to attend is $20 and payment can be made online or at the event. This can be done on our website or by responding to cheryn@millerresearch.com or (208) 312-4650.

The field day will begin at the Miller Research field research site near 250 N 350 E, Rupert (42.65527 N, -113.59945 E).

Two ISDA and two CCA (Pest Management) credits are available.

Agenda

10 a.m.-10:20 a.m.: Controlling powdery scab and PMTV

10:20-12 noon: Attendees will be divided into two groups and rotate among the following stops:

  1. In-furrow fungicides for managing Rhizoctonia canker and black scurf
  2. Alternatives to metam fumigation
  3. Effect of seed treatments on blackleg and Fusarium dry rot
  4. Fungicide programs for the control of foliar disease (early blight, brown spot, white mold, and black dot) and fungicide resistance management
  5. Managing aerial vine rot caused by bacteria
  6. Disease identification quiz

Lunch will be provided at the conclusion of the meeting.

The presentations will focus on chemical management of diseases and will highlight research that has been funded by the Pacific Northwest Potato Research Consortium. ISDA pesticide recertification credits (2) and CCA Pest Management credits (2) have been requested for this meeting.
