Boone, Iowa – Farm Rescue, a nonprofit organization that provides free planting, haying, harvesting, commodity hauling and livestock feeding assistance to farm families who have experienced a major illness, injury or natural disaster, will have more visibility at this year’s Farm Progress Show, Aug. 27-29 in Boone, Iowa.

Thanks to generous support from Farm Progress, for the first time, Farm Rescue will have its own exhibit space in addition to collaborations scheduled at partner booths. Visitors can find Farm Rescue at Booth #1310.

“Our biggest challenge is awareness. This is a great opportunity for Farm Rescue to share our story and our message of support to the broader farm community,” said Dan Erdmann, marketing program manager at Farm Rescue. “The generous support of Farm Progress is going to give us visibility at the show like never before, plus we will still be collaborating with our many generous partners during the show.”

At The Farm Rescue Booth

Farm Rescue’s display will include farm equipment from the nonprofit’s fleet that readily serves the fieldwork needs of farmers and their families in times of need. Equipment will include planting and harvest implements, as well as a semi-truck and Farm Rescue/Busch Light co-branded pickup truck.

Additionally, visitors at the booth will discover a 1957, 450 Farmall tractor, donated by Lincoln Fetcher of Saint Paul, Minn. The tractor will be auctioned off by BigIron Auctions following the Farm Progress Show on Sept. 4, 2024. All proceeds from the sale of the tractor will be donated to Farm Rescue.

“We are grateful to Lincoln Fetcher who graciously donated this piece of equipment and have no doubt his generosity will help support our efforts to serve farm families in their time of need,” said Erdmann.

Fetcher’s sentimental connection to the machine is what ultimately inspired him to donate the tractor according to Erdmann.

“He shared with me that after a quick internet search, he discovered Farm Rescue and felt an immediate connection to our mission,” said Erdmann. “He decided this would be a unique way to support our organization and our assistance operations. We cannot thank him enough for his generosity.”

Erdmann added that the generosity doesn’t stop with the tractor donation. Countless businesses have rallied behind this donation to enhance the piece of equipment prior to the auction including:

  • Rims donated by Miles Boatman with BigIron Auctions
  • New tires donated by Titan International
  • The repair of a leaking loader cylinder by Ames Hydraulics
