Columbia, MD — Certis Biologicals, a global leader in bio-based innovations that enhance crop productivity and quality, has named Eda Reinot as President. Reinot will soon transition to CEO, leading the legacy company into a new phase of growth.

Certis Biologicals is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsui & Co., Ltd.

Reinot joins Certis Biologicals, having served in a vice president role at Indigo Ag, where she was responsible for R&D, regulatory, quality, bio-processing, and international product development. She previously held R&D positions at BASF and was the Global Head of R&D at Becker Underwood.

“The growth in the biological market has been unparalleled over the past decade,” said Reinot. “Throughout that trajectory, Certis Biologicals has consistently led based on its strength in and commitment to science-based innovation. That science-led approach is critical as we continue to bring to market products that help growers feed the world while enhancing the sustainability of their land, resources, and operations.”

“Certis Biologicals is an integral part of our agriculture strategy, which aims to create value for our customers, partners, and society,” said Hitoshi Kudo, General Manager of the AgriScience Division at Mitsui & Co., Ltd. “We believe that Eda's expertise and leadership will accelerate the growth and innovation of this business.”

Certis Biologicals currently manufactures and distributes a portfolio of more than 40 products that provide efficacious control of pests, diseases, and weeds that threaten greenhouse, specialty, and large-acreage crops.
