The number of people who care about health, diet and exercise in China has grown in the past few years. According to a report released by McKinsey; 65 percent of survey respondents said they are pursuing a healthier lifestyle. Potatoes provide athletes the carbohydrates, potassium and energy  they need to perform at their best, making them the perfect option to fuel up with.

In order to support athletes and make potatoes top of mind, Potatoes USA ran a program with eight nutrition and fitness influencers from March 23 to 28 in the China market. Each influencer released a U.S. potato article about U.S. potatoes and performance on their social media channels (Weibo and WeChat). The article provided their followers with U.S. potato nutrition information, mashed potato recipes using U.S. dehydrated potatoes like a mashed potato eish egg rice ball, and why athletes should include U.S. potatoes in their diets. The articles released by influencers generated more than 1 million impressions on Weibo and received 213 likes and 72 positive comments on WeChat. Not only did the articles have a large reach, but they also generated a lot of positive comments and excitement from consumers.
