Potatoes USA is in the process of filling its full-time, assistant global marketing manager position. This position will assist the marketing department staff to implement the domestic and international marketing programs that are designed to increase consumer demand for U.S. potatoes through retail sales, foodservice outlets and prepared/packaged foods. Position: Assistant Global Marketing Manager

 Department: Marketing Department

 Background: Potatoes USA is in the process of filling it’s full-time, Assistant Global Marketing Manager position. This position reports directly to the Marketing Programs Director.

 Position Description: Assist the Marketing Department staff to implement the domestic and international marketing programs that are designed to increase consumer demand for U.S. potatoes through retail stores, foodservice outlets and prepared/packaged foods. Take on department-wide projects, as well as program specific support.

 Compensation: $40,000 - $45,000 annually

 Benefits: Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, Long Term Disability, Paid Time Off and 401k

 Location: Denver, CO (alternative locations will not be entertained)

Title: Assistant Global Marketing Manager 

Reports to: Marketing Programs Director 

Purpose: Assist the Marketing Department staff to implement Potatoes USA’s domestic and international marketing programs. Take on department-wide projects as well as program specific activities. Assists and corresponds with clients, customers, and vendors consistent with the mission and vision of the Organization. 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in the management, content development and delivery for the Board’s online presence that includes, but is not limited to, updating and maintaining the marketing and industry websites, digital assets and social platforms.
  • Provide support to the Directors and Global Marketing Managers in implementing the marketing and communications programs. Manage implementation of the activities as assigned.
  • Work on the evaluation and reporting of the programs to the grower leaders, industry and USDA, including scorecards, research reports, Country Progress Reports and grant program reports.
  • Assist with the preparation of the Unified Export Strategy and Country Progress Reviews submissions to USDA and other grant writing applications as well as required reporting for these programs.
  • Help to communicate the Board’s marketing programs to the grower base and potato industry through presentations, articles and newsletters.
  • Research specific potato marketing opportunities, carryout analytics on the programs and assist with reporting on program results.
  • Attend Potatoes USA Board, Industry, Agency and International Representative meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Directors and CMO. 

Supervisory Responsibilities: None 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required (unless otherwise noted): 

  • Preferably 2+ years experience in the field or in a related area. Experience can include internships.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Agricultural Business, Communications or related field.
  • Experience in agriculture or food industries or course work preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Must be a collaborative and positive team player.
  • Individual must be a self-starter and able to self-direct.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail including basic financial accounting.
