Twin Spring Coupling has released the data on the first commercial product featuring its new drivetrain coupling technology. The TSC8300 is warrantied to 300 foot-pounds of torque. This product allows customers with smaller torque requirements that need the torque with increased flexibility to get both in one product.
Increased flexibility with the same torque curves allows the designer/engineer to achieve increased reliability with little to no modification. The constant maintenance of the internals of a universal joint isn’t a factor with the TSC8300, as there are no internal components to maintain or wear out
Applications include axle, PTO, drive shaft, steering, conveyor belts, and anywhere else a uni or CV joint is used. The flexibility of the springs allows for more degree of movement without damaging drive shaft or components, while also absorbing shock and energy, making the coupling more efficient.
Twin Spring is also working on larger versions to handle 500 and 700 foot-pounds of torque.
