Great Plains has released a new technology called Implement Command. Available on new 18- to 35-foot Turbo-Maxes, Implement Command allows producers to make active decisions and on-the-go, real-time field adjustments to improve yields and soil health. For user comfort and convenience, the system allows producers to set, adjust and monitor the performance of their Turbo-Max right from the tractor cab.

“The biggest benefit to producers with this technology is a newfound convenience and ease-of-use,” says Rye DeGarmo, vice president of Great Plains Engineering. “The Implement Command system gives the control to the producer inside of the tractor cab. No longer do they have to crawl in and out.”

With Implement Command, several Turbo-Max functions can be easily controlled with a simple push of a button. Producers can control tillage depth with three programmable presets to make adjustments quickly. Additionally, weight transfer can be adjusted on-screen by dialing in the appropriate amount of down pressure applied to the wings. From a quick glance of the screen, producers can monitor several settings, including the gang angle from 0 to 6 degrees, the hydraulic reel’s down pressure, and fore and aft leveling. These settings can all be changed using hydraulic levers in the cab.

“Producers no longer have to worry about accidentally hitting a lever and making unintended changes to the field,” says DeGarmo. “With the Implement Command system, these changes will be immediately visible on the screen,”

The Implement Command system is ISO-Compatible and works on the tractor’s virtual terminal so no extra monitors are needed in the cab. For tractors equipped with multiple displays, dual VT compatibility lets producers easily transfer implement controls to the next available VT on the bus.
