Machine-learning driven crop insights tool HarvestEye is set to showcase its refreshed 2.0 system at North America’s largest potato industry trade show Potato Expo.

Fitting to harvesting or grading equipment, HarvestEye is a cost-effective method to deliver visibility - via an online portal and daily reports - on the size, shape and mapping variability of crops, offering greater insights to inform decisions at harvest.

The machine learning model has continued to be refined and a more powerful system implemented in HarvestEye 2.0, detecting a broader variety of potatoes and capable of operating in more challenging conditions, including low evening sun.

Harry Tinson, general manager at HarvestEye, said, “We are pleased to be returning to Potato Expo to showcase the latest capabilities of HarvestEye directly with leaders of the North American potato industry. We’ve made significant improvements thanks to the phenomenal feedback from growers in the region trialling our units over the past year and we have exciting plans to further enhance the user experience.

“Attendance at Potato Expo continues to be a vital part of our strategy to elevate HarvestEye’s visibility with growers, packers and processers in the key potato growing states in North America. We are looking forward to continuing our dialogue with leading organisations in the industry to discuss how the system can support their needs.

“As an international agri-tech innovator, we’re making strides towards a more efficient and sustainable future of farming, and increasing visibility and reducing wastage in the North American potato market is an area where we can have a tremendous impact.”

HarvestEye will be exhibiting at booth 22 at Potato Expo 2024, the annual National Potato Council event taking place on January 10-11 at the Austin Convention Centre in Austin, Texas.

Growers, packers and processors are encouraged to secure subscription, rental and lease options on HarvestEye units.
